iOS 9 Pokes Nose Out of Bag, Waggles New Features

So word on the street this morning is that Apple’s hasn’t exactly done a great job in keeping a lid on iOS 9 in the run-up to WWDC 2015. We’re reliably informed that at least a few of the new features set to debut with iOS 9 have crept out of the woodwork and made themselves known – one of which being Apple Home, a second by the name of ‘Proactive’ and finally, the Force Touch feature we’ve heard so much about as of late.
According to Forbes, Force Touch will bring a whole new dimension of functionality to the next generation of iPhones and iPads. The new “pressure sensitive response” will essentially enable user to interact differently with their devices in accordance with how hard the press the touchscreen.

Meanwhile, the new “contextually aware information” feature going by the name of Proactive appears to be something of a comprehensive device data reader and tracker – hacking (in a friendly way) into your apps, Siri, Calendar, Contacts and so on and so forth in order to bring the user useful and important information…proactively, one might say.
Last up, the various devices expected to begin sweeping the market soon enough for under the Apple HomeKit brand look set to be controlled and centralized using Apple Home.
“iOS is now every bit as mature and, in many ways, more important than OS X and is the bedrock for Apple’s next wave of endeavors,” commented Forbes.
Of course, none of the above has yet been confirmed or in any was refuted by Apple, though chances we’ll be hearing at least something on the subject when WWDC 2015 gets underway. In terms or release dates, it’s once again more than likely that iOS 9 will first touch down on-board the new iPhone 6S and iPad Air 3 later this fall – existing device getting their updates a few weeks later.
